Donetsk, Apr 24 – DAN. Kiev representatives in the Contact Group have refused to concert the OSCE-proposed package of measures to control the ceasefire implementation, said DPR Foreign Minister Natalia Nikonorova.
“We hoped that the Ukrainian negotiators would adhere to a more adequate position and would adopt at least the text of the Contact Group joint statement that contains the minimal package of additional measures to reinforce and control (ceasefire implementation). But what we saw was once again a total intractability of Kiev’s representatives,” she said.
Nikonorova said the DPR was ready to announce recommitment to ceasefire “any time”.
The package of additional measures was incorporated into the statement of the Contact Group dated March 26, 2018. It includes publication and compliance with ceasefire orders at all levels, and disciplinary measures against ceasefire violations; suspension of offensive or reconnaissance operations; shelling, including retaliatory; ban on fire on or from populated areas; deployment of heavy weapons in populated areas and on delivery of aimed fire at infrastructure.*ot
